What this lesson covers

  1. 01

    Claim vs evidence

Honest claim: “Rehearsed refund judgment in branching dialogue (LTEM Tier 5).” · “Manager sign-off on stretch task planned in pathway (Tier 7 target).”

Overclaim: “Learners mastered refunds because they finished the course.” · “Game points prove on-job performance.”

  2. 02

    Games do not auto-upgrade tiers

Garris et al. (2002) frame serious games as instructional goals plus mechanics plus debrief — not leaderboard decoration. An architect can specify a mission interaction, but Tier 6–7 claims still need scored competence and on-job evidence in the pathway.
