What this lesson covers

  1. 01

Four parts of a usable goal

Moore’s test is practical: a viable goal states the metric, the gap to close, the timeframe, and the job role that must change. If you cannot find a number the business already tracks, you are not ready to storyboard.

Metric: a number already on a dashboard (errors, cycle time, conversion, safety incidents). · Gap: from X to Y, not “improve.” · Time: a window leadership will still be in the room for. · Role: who must behave differently.

  2. 02

Bridge — storyboard waits for the goal

A development-ready storyboard is a production contract: screen fields, preferred paths, media/a11y notes, and a two-cycle SME pack — not a topic outline pasted into Studio. Architects own the goal and action map first; CEPD Module 3 drills the storyboard craft once that map exists.

  3. 03

    Fails vs. can be designed

    Request | Verdict

Raise awareness of our values. | Fail — no metric, no observable action.

Reduce repeat-contact tickets 20% in two quarters by changing how tier-1 agents close cases. | Pass — metric, gap, time, role.

All staff complete the new LMS module. | Fail — completion is an activity, not a business result.
