What this lesson covers

  1. 01

    Rehearsal, not confetti

CEPD Module 4 built branching dialogue. Module 5 directs mission-style and serious-game interactions in Studio: sequences where the learner must complete job steps under constraints — not a leaderboard pasted on a content dump. Garris et al. (2002) tie instructional goals to game mechanics and debrief; Mayer’s coherence principle still applies — extraneous animation is extraneous load.

  2. 02

    Serious vs decorative

Serious interaction: Objective tied to observable action. · Fail state teaches the gap. · Debrief ties back to policy.

Gamification decoration: Points for clicking Next. · Badges with no consequence. · Animation with no job link.
