Understanding by Design’s backward sequence: (1) identify desired results — what should learners understand and be able to transfer; (2) determine acceptable evidence — how you will know; (3) plan learning experiences. Module 1 gave you business goals and actions. This module asks what evidence would convince you those actions improved.

1 · Desired results: Name the transfer: what learners must understand and do on the job. A topic title is not a result.
2 · Acceptable evidence: Write the assessment map before any activity: what evidence you will accept, at which LTEM tier, and who signs it. Storyboard screens come after that row exists.
3 · Learning plan: Plan the practice first, then only the information that practice needs. Moore’s minimum information and Merrill’s application both start here, not with a slide count.
